Thinking about... Hadrista role swap AU

After Esrahaddon created the amulets, Jerish insisted he flee with Nevrik while he stayed behind. As a result, it's Esra who went into hiding with the heir while Jerish was locked away for 900 years, until one Princess Arista Essendon showed up and he trains her to be a Teshlor.

Meanwhile, I like to imagine this AU's Hadrian as a bard (with how magic Artists also tend to be regular artists. Blacksmithing could also be an art but music's easier to learn on the run). He grows up in Hintindar learning magic from his father, frustrated that he's just meant to keep it secret and not use it for good. He runs away (stealing a magic robe instead of a sword) and becomes a soldier, known less for his fighting skills and more how things inexplicably seem to happen around him.

okay this is my first post about the riyria revelations bc im 7 years late and probably the only person reading it right now but im literally dying over hadrian begging an unconscious arista to come back to him

so apparently there are folks who don’t like hadrista but how anyone can not want Arista “so convinced I’m unworthy of love I start crying when I discover my feelings are reciprocated” Essendon and Hadrian “clueless about feelings to the point of thinking the woman who very obviously loves him will hate him if he confesses his feelings to her” Blackwater to find happiness and security together is beyond me.
