I think Zag would've been considered still very young by godly standards, but by human standards, he would've already lived at least a couple lifetimes. And there's never a point where they discover that their relationship is wrong because to them, it isn't wrong. Incest is just a fact of life to them.

For an unrelated human AU, I think their relationship would actually be a lot less strained just because they wouldn't have the history of Hades' shitty parenting tainting it.
