Let’s switch gears and go for something far more radiant and uplifting, courtesy of Norway’s Cavego. The DJ and producer serves up a sumptuous dance track in Hafjell, melding chromatic synthwave with nu-disco on the luscious tune. It’s almost like Chrome Sparks with a luxuriant French house groove, heady and exhilarating. Hafjell is one of six tracks off of Cavego’s debut EP, Gudbrandsdalen, described as “sparkling and playful”. “‘Hafjell’ is named after one of Norway’s most renowned ski resorts, and where the slalom and giant slalom events during the Olympics in 1994 were held. Inspired by the games the track’s atmospheric intro recalls a slalom skier inspecting the piste before launching off and navigating the slalom gates at exhilarating speed.” For another track off the record, stream the sweet rush of an electro house meets deep disco house jam that is Vertikal Vind below. Cavego’s Gudbrandsdalen EP is available now via Belgian label Eskimo Recordings, here.
