how would hagioh and zario react to their grandkits? (in some universe where they somehow were able to interact with them)

hagioh would ofc be the best grandpapa, zario would prob raise them to be rebels and troublemakers ghdfkjd

canonically tho, zario and umbrakit have a special connection

Quick question, but how did Silentstep's dads meet? Or would that be considered too spoiler-y for you to answer?

I actually hadn’t thought that out yet!! When the story first starts out, its only Hagioh and his couple months old kit. Silent remembers seeing her father often gazing longingly at the twoleg fences and dens, but she never understood why.

It wasn’t until years and years later when her other father Zario comes in. She finds him wandering the forest, with a kittypet collar and scent. All he tells her is that he and Hagioh were surviving in the forests together until clan cats started to make it more difficult and kept chasing them off. Sick of this life, Zario chose to just become a kittypet, while Hagioh tearfully refused, not accepting defeat and being pushed around by the clan cats. They separated then and there.

Later on, Zario gives birth to one kit. Not wanting to have his kit taken from him, he sought out his old mate Hagioh, and asked for the rouge to take her. Happily accepting, Hagioh asked if that meant Zario was coming back to live in the forest with him. Surprisingly Zario answered awkwardly that No it didn’t mean that. he just didn’t want his and Hagioh’s kit taken away. But at least this way, Zario could still come and visit every now and then. Hagioh begged, that it was too hard to survive on his own, nevertheless as a single parent with a kit. Together, they could start something again. Zario looked away guiltily but said nothing.

Furious at this, Hagioh blew up that not only was it hard enough to survive on his own and now he had to somehow provide for his kit by himself, but that he couldn’t believe how selfish Zario was being, choosing the kittypet life over his own family. Hagioh stormed off with the kit, not wanting anymore to do with Zario, and not wanting the kit to have to be raised by such a self-centered, spineless cat.

been really busy with school stuff, i doodled this after writing out a short fiction story that i based off of hagiohs (silentsteps father) goodbye and leaving her with the clans. id loved to sit down and really work on this but its already close to midnight so another day
