the fact that anime that often raises questions of will (free will, lack of free will, dying will, etc.) is one of the most fatalistic works among most anime (in my opinion) causes me a lot of conflicting emotions. tsunayoshi sawada never had a choice, he can never escape, the story literally slaps him in the nose when he tries to use free will (the situation with enma) and even after that it turns out that all this was his fate. and unlike many anime, his fate is extremely sad - to do what you don't want, to realize that your family will follow you because they love you (and because they also can't escape fate), to realize that there is little you can change.. and then everything will repeat itself again… ha ha my poor guy
(It's worth noting that I don't deny the fatalism of other anime, they just seem more deterministic to me)
