I just lost my shit. There's a type of chicken that looks like a fuckin poodle. Look at these glorious little shits. Fluff, nothin but fluff.
Apparently they're called Silkies and they contribute absolutely NOTHING. They rarely lay eggs, they're not raised for food. They don't even fight off predators because they can't see due to the pom pom of fluff that is their head. They're friendly, harmless chickens. All they do is walk around, lookin all fashionable to the other chickens, asking for pets and attention. People even keep them indoors. AND THEY USE THEM AS SHOW BIRDS, AS IN MEDALS AND AWARDS AND STUFF. I'm dead.
I'm getting one
don't forget about how wittle they are
!!!! What kind of marking is the lighter one? It's very unique!
Also looks like it may have a vaulted skull don't worry tho it's mostly harmless one of mine has it and she's fine you just wont want them getting pecked by bigger chichens because they're slightly more fragile :/
Both of the babies are mixed between white silkies and other chickens. I don't know exactly what they are, but they were literally the only silkie chicks I could find in my area. Anyway, here are the babies now:
The black one is a rooster, and he was very spunky and fun as a chick so I named him Ozzy (like Ozzy Osbourne lol). And the white/tan one is a hen, I named her Hooch (because of her heads resemblance to Madam Hooch's hair. Madam Hooch is the flying instructor in the Harry Potter books and movies. If you look up a picture of her from the movie, her hair and the white silkie's hair is almost identical).
Plus!!!!: they love each other very much. Hooch and Ozzy do NOT like to be separated. I once gave Hooch a bath in my sink and Ozzy was not happy that she was taken from him, so we ended up giving both chickens a bath and they had a couples spa day! Ozzy really loved the blow dryer. Hooch was fascinated by the water. This leads my family and I to believe that they will bring us many many adorable silkie chicks in the near future.
