Messy sketch page of Ying Lie!!

At this particular point in the story he's not particularly that nice of a person! He's trying his best to understand human emotions but it can be hard for him sometimes.

Some story beat ideas that I've had in mind:

Ying Lie doesn't really talk that much (he's a listener by nature and also by occupation, as a tea merchant his role is to listen to other people's stories and provide ceremonial services for important dates like weddings, coming of age ceremonies, funerals, etc).

That being said, he talks a lot more around Hai Ran (the white haired girl) because he knows she likes hearing stories of the people he's come in contact with!

Hai Ran stays in an entertainment house where she plays the Gu qing so she doesn't get to see or hear very much, so Ying Lie's letters and stories (when he visits in person) are occurences she looks forward to a lot.

(Ying Lie also looks forward to staying with her, it's a welcome rest from his job)

On days he stays with her, Ying Lie will always prepare her favourite tea before breakfast.

Despite their companionship now, the two of them didn't get along very well when they first met.

I think Ying Lie would kiss her very softly in the mornings because he misses her!!!!!!!!! He's always out and about travelling so it must be so comforting having a place to stay that you can call your own... his home is a person FOR REAL!
