Mmmm Paper Boats from the Transistor soundtrack (which brought back all my Transistor Feels in force.)

The season finale of Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju. I cried like a baby. It was perfect.

If you could be anywhere else right now, where would it be?

I’m actually pretty good where I am right now, which is a pleasantly surprising reaction to have to this question. But, what the hell. Concept: me in a riverfront apartment in an old converted warehouse building, in a medium-sized city with good public transportation. It’s raining outside. I have hot tea and a cozy blanket. My cat is sleeping on the floor next to me. I quit my job, and am writing the next great American paperback.

If you could pick a decade to travel back in time to, what would it be?

Yeah, cuz going BACK in time is a GREAT idea for a queer lady. For anything more than a few decades back, it would depend largely on, you know, how much money I would have and how long I would have to stay there. But just for kicks time touristing, I’d love to jam with the vikings in Iceland.

If you won the lottery and had millions in cash, what would be the first thing you would do?

Quit my job :’D

Which fictional character would you like to hang out with for the day?

Uuughhhh. Okay, there are so many possibilities, but I’m not gonna overthink this one: First thing that pops into my head is Pete Garey from Ariel by Steven R. Boyett, aka the #1 most formative book I read as a teen, which I own at least four crumbling copies of. I’d make him tell me all the stories that happened in the gaps in the book for the whole day, maybe jam together about surviving in a post apocalyptic fantasy world.

real talk tho why do fic writers like being so mean to ai

Unfortunately because I am just me, I can’t speak for all fic writers, so I can only speak for myself. 

I’m ‘mean’ to Ai because I’m trying to tell a- hopefully- interesting story. If everything went right all the time, then things can get boring fast, both for the reader and writer (in my experience). Conflict is great, and allows me to write out different reactions, or different ways to solve difficult problems. When characters are put into tough situations, you can really explore their morals and get to dig in deeper into the character themselves. It’s not pointless. I don’t write out ‘mean’ things just for the fun of it. Like I said, I’m trying to tell a story, one of conflict, and triumph, and heartache, and love. If it was all triumph and love all the time, then it wouldn’t be interesting. It’s the story of overcoming adversity that’s satisfying, not simply the triumph alone.

28. Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

You’re so cruuuuuueeeelll why can’t I say youuuuuu *cries* 

- FearTheKeira- I love allll of their omegaverse fics. And they’re actually the author that got me into omegaverse in the first place. UGH I can’t say enough good things about their writing style. They’re pacing is amazing, the plot is to die for, and the smut is always on point

-honeybunchesofgoats- I LOVE THEM BC OF THEIR AMAZING SMUTTY SOUTORI FICS. *melts just thinking about them*

-hazelfern- Their two fics You belong to me and their Packhouse series are two awesome takes on omegaverse, and I die every time I hear that they’ve updated. Seriously please please please do yourself a favor and read them both right now and fall in love with their writing like meeeeeeee <3 

7. Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

This is actually a poem I write a while back, and it was written when I first started dealing with anxiety. I wrote it all in one setting and have never edited it, so I guess I like it so much because it comes from such a raw and honest place. I also never titled it because I hate titles so there’s that hahah

It’s time for the relapse.

Relax, it’s time for the relapse.

Take a step back, and hold fast.

Because time ticks, speeds past.

The lackluster realities,

Lead to late night anxieties.

And forced dreamlands,

Never taste as good as

Daytime romance, and

Dancing at the time hands,

Never got me any time back.

So hold still. Relax.

4. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?

As of right now I’ve got 5 outlined with about 4 chapters each (not including Mine to take or My favorite). One that I’ve been playing around a lot with is a Kisumi/Sousuke/ Ai omegaverse fic with beta!kisumi and alpha!sousuke in an open relationship. Kisumi finds interest in omega!ai and starts seeing him separately but after growing attached, decides he wants to introduce Ai to Sousuke, and that’s basically the very sort version/summary hahah

Fic Rec! & Updates!

Ever since I’ve gotten back into town I’ve hit a wall with writing D: I’ve been working on it everyday, but after like 100 words the idea of writing one more words feels so draining and idk whyy. BUT! For some odd reason I’ve got this sudden energy to write, which is awesome, but also sucks since it’s 1:47 and I’ve got a full day tomorrow with family and visiting my sister who lives about an hour away. OH WELL guess who is staying up all night to night? :D 

Anyway while I was in my writing lull I, of course, was on AO3 in hopes that reading some stuff would get me in a writing mood. I ran into this fic called You Belong to Me by hazelfern (on tumblr as haikyukulele) , and it’s SO GOOD. It’s omegaverse (duh) and the main pairing is Soutori (double duh) with the side pairing being RinHaru (sorry if that’s a deal breaker for you D:). The writers take on omegaverse is unique, and may squick some people out with how much of a power imbalance there seems to be, but so far everything is consensual and if you’re in the mood you should check it out!!
