Chrobin week 2018 day two- twins

Having not expected twins, Chrom and Robin can't seem to come seem to come up with a name for their daughter. However, Lucina seems to have an idea.

The gentle knock on the door stirs Robin from her sleep, her grip on the infant girl in her arms instinctively tightening for a moment as her eyes fly open. Quickly she spots her husband rise, their infant son in his arms sleeping soundly as ever as he walks over to crack the door open. “Can I come in?” She hears the whispered voice of her eldest daughter, who steps inside their chambers as her father lets her inside without hesitation. She watches with a small smile pressed to her lips as Chrom returns to his chair beside her bed, Lucina taking a seat carefully at the foot of the bed she rests upon. It doesn’t take long for her to see that her eldest does not wear the usual smile she greets them with.

“Lucina?” Robin questions softly, concern clearly written across her face as she watches her daughter closely. “What’s wrong?” At this she sees Lucina’s gaze, which had been glued to her hands upon the moment she’d sat down, rise. “It’s nothing,” She starts, her head shaking slightly as she speaks. “Have you decided on names for my brother and sister yet? It’s been a few hours, Morgan and Luci were waiting to hear as well but they’ve both drifted off.” Normally Robin would question Lucina ignoring her question, but it’s clear there’s something her daughter is hiding- something she’s not quite ready to discuss. With the trauma the princess has faced in her own time, she and Chrom have learned it’s best to let her open up when ready to, to not press for answers. “Well,” Chrom begins, holding his son a little closer. “We decided on Marth for your brother.”

“-It was your father’s idea.” The queen cuts in, her remark causing for a sincere smile to appear on Lucina’s lips. “But we haven’t come up with one for your sister yet, we figured one will come to mind here shortly when the time is right.” Chrom finishes after his wife’s interjection, the couple sharing a quick smile before turning their attention back to Lucina- who has fallen quiet once more. “Marc…” She says after a moment, her voice so quiet the two nearly fail to make out the name she utters. “That was my sister’s name, in the future.”

Shock fills Robin at these words, her gaze darting from Lucina to meet Chrom, who is looking at her and the sleeping twin she holds with his eyes wide. They had always figured Lucina and Morgan were the only children they had in the future. Never had they even suspected Robin was carrying twins until their daughter entered the world second, her cries louder than her twin’s. “You never said anything about this before…” Robin speaks before realizing, her attention having drifted back to watch Lucina. “Both her and Morgan disappeared near the end, we never knew what happened to Morgan for sure, I assumed he traveled through the portal with Grima… but Marc…” Her voice cuts off, and Robin spots a hand clutching the sheets she sits upon. “We never wanted her to become a casualty, even when we spotted her amongst Grima’s forces commanding Risen. I thought I could convince her to come back to Ylissetol but Grima’s influence was far too strong… I couldn’t save her.”

Quiet falls upon the room at Lucina’s revelation as Chrom and Robin try to process what she’s just said. The fact that they had another daughter, one that passed far too soon in a world falling to ruin. “Can I-” Lucina’s voice cuts the silence after several minutes have passed, her blue hues focused on the infant her mother holds. “Can I hold her?” “Of course.” Robin beckons her daughter forward, carefully handing her the baby girl and making sure she’s settled in her arms before leaning back against the pillows. Husband and wife share another glance, their eyes seemingly silently communicating a question both wish to ask. “Lucina, what do you think about us naming your baby sister Marc?” Robin asks gently after a moment, watching the princess’s reaction closely. But as her eyes lift with tears in them, trailing their way down her cheeks she wonders if this was a good idea after all. “I think Marc would’ve liked that.”

Small Concept

Rin, thank God, passed the exam and became an exorcist. Of course, he still gets older, he ages, and say he’s... 24 now, give or take. He’ll be enjoying some alone time after a mission report, in the hallway, taking a breather just so he can gather his thoughts. 

For once after a long time, he’s alone for more than five minutes (you know, between him FINALLY getting a doctor’s meister, almost getting pummelled by a massive yeti out North of the Gehenna Gate, being assigned a class of exwires to teach because his superiors love irony and messing with him, and ‘Okumura-sensei-I-need-your-help-doing-this-really-menial-task-that-I-could-totally-do-on-my-own-if-I-actually-bothered-to-try.’) 

And then... something unfortunate happens. 

“Rin-pon~”

Ah, there he is, the tool. That mother fucker. That magnificent bastard!

Rin: ohgodpleaseno

“Why, if it isn’t my favorite exorcist. How do you do, Rin-pon?” 

Rin never knows where the hell Mephisto got that nickname but he snaps when the clown tries to adjust his crooked collar, smacking his gloved hand away. 

“Back off, Mephisto. I’m not in the mood.” 

Mephisto pouts as he massages his hand from the backlash. “Ouch, touchy.”

“Oh, can it, princess.”

And then it happens. Mephisto remembers. He remembers a man who’s just like Rin, who’s got an attitude and the same snappish behavior as his son. And he can just make out the orange tint of the round glasses on his eyes. The way he says ‘Shut it, princess,’ is so completely in tune with how he heard it just now. 

And Mephisto almost completely shuts down. He just about curls up in a ball ways away with his hand over his mouth as he recalls just how much he loved that behavior. Boy howdy, his little brother is so cute. 

Interaction proceeds-

“Hoi, clown! What’s with that face? Was it something I said? Am I going to hell?”

“No, I am.”

Summary: Mei-Lin wonders about the twins, curious if what she has been told about their “harmless nature” is true. (Ha! Probably not!) Lilith speaks of the Spirit World behind the waterfall. Paku drags Godaīn into the last thing he expected or wanted to be doing and it turns out, he knows a thing or two about computers. Mephisto’s shooter is finally found, Shura’s ready for a rematch against Tōdō, Yukio reverts all too soon and proves he hasn’t changed a bit, and Rin refuses to release his ties to his brother. It would hurt too much.

Startling news is brought upon the runaways, and Amahara’s resident witch reveals things about herself that no one knew. The Blightseed begins to sap away all energy from Assiah as it charges toward Japan vindictively and Lilith, unfortunately, has to put up with Yukio being a fidgety, untrusting brat. Drastic measures are taken to push the Gehenna Gate back and Shiemi and Yukio talk about forgiveness and friendship.

Paku and Godaīn find themselves held by their scruffs after being caught uncovering secrets the Order doesn’t want them to see and the Blightseed’s power intensifies, forcing everyone to make a quick move to the Spirit World

Jaune worries he'll never catch up to their friends, Pyrrha wishes to help him see the way she does.

There was something encumbering him, the way his shoulders hung as they walked along and how his sapphire eyes refused to meet her’s making this clear to her. He’d been impassive for nearly a week now, and only continued to grow more distant with each day that passed -even when they trained in the evenings. She found herself conflicted over his change in demeanor, after all the last time he had been this down was during the situation with Cardin.

Normally the attitude Jaune possessed was one of positivity. It used to be a common sight to see him smiling, the expression so contagious on him it would cause one to form on her own lips even on the most troubling days. It was an effect he had on her ever since they became partners. The past few days however, he’d seemed weighed down, the bright smile Pyrrha admired and loved so lost to the sadness that clung to him. The change left her un sure of what to do, after all last time she'd attempted to help that night Cardin had overheard their conversation he'd pushed away- only accepting her help later on. Regardless, she knew something was wrong and was determined to discover what. He’d always been there for her, ever since the day they met, and she wanted to help him in any way she possibly could.

Emerald hues shifted about their surroundings, and upon noting that no one was present she figured now would be the opportune time to confront him. “Stop…” The simple word slipped it’s way from her lips and a hand reached to grab his before turning to face him. Jaune watched as she did so, flashing her a look of confusion. Her words flattered at the look and she began to question whether it was a good idea to approach the subject or not, the last thing she wanted to do was upset him.

“There’s something bothering you,” Pyrrha started after finding the resolve to continue. “I don’t know what it is, but please let me try and help. Her gaze found his, noticing for the first time that week he’d let the wall he’d built fall, his blue eyes glossy with sadness. "You don’t have to deal with this alone, please tell me what’s wrong.” He glanced away, a small sigh escaping his lips as he did so, causing her head to lilt slightly. "I just-" He starts after a moment. "Don't know if I'll ever be the fighter you, Nora, Ren, or team RWBY are."

She found herself squeezing his hand slightly, the frown that resided upon her lips having grown slightly at his words. "Jaune, everyone else has been training for years, you have only just started and you have already come so far in such a short time." She gave him a small smile before continuing, doing her best to reassure him. "I am so proud of you for how far you have come." At those words his eyes met her's once more, shock now filled them rather than despondency. "You are?"

"I have never met someone so determined to better themselves, I am incredibly proud of you and I know that you will become a wonderful huntsman." At that he smiled, squeezing her hand back. "Thank you Pyrrha." She rose to press a gentle kiss on his cheek after he had done so, smiling back all the while. "Anytime Jaune."
