BEST OF 2016-ARTIST LISTS-#17- PRINS WILMER
Swedish melancholic-pop prince Prins Wilmer has assembled a list of tasty Swedish pop as well as his fav David Bowie tune from Blackstar as his top listens of 2016!
10: Little Jinder - Puzzel
Swedish producer/songwriter that makes some 80's influenced pop. She has a special voice and I used to have a celebrity crush on her because it's sounds like she's whispering right into your Ear when you listen to her music on headphones.
9: kent - andromeda
Super big Swedish band that dropped a farewell album this year. Not a great one but they have meant alot to me so..
8: 21 Savage - Red Opps
Reality rap is back. I've been with 21 since "the slaughter tape" and it's been great to see him blow up this year. Shout out out to Drake for buying him a Ferrari, at least drake did something good this year.
7: Yemi - Kall
Swedish rapper doing everything that needs to be done for the Swedish rap. I hope his blend of Trap/Cloud rap and 90's EDM can inspire others to be more creative.
6: Steve Buscemi's Dreamy Eyes - Call Out
Best new Swedish indie band, they dropped this single unsigned and its about to hit 100k streams?? And it's not even because some stupid meme or YouTube video, it's just a good song.
5: Pomona Dream - Gladdic Vox
Swedish Duo making really unique music; They call it space funk. Organic Boom Bap-drums, old synthesizers and Interesting jazz influenced harmonization
4: Håkan Hellström - Lämna mig inte i det här skicket
Swedish legend that used to be almost indie but now all of a Sudden he's selling out arena tours. It's been hard having to share him with the jocks from high school that used to hate him. But it's been like this for a couple years now so I'm almost over it.
3: Hanna Järver - Kan nästan lova
electronic pop from a Swedish producer/songwriter. This song portrays the moment when you meet someone very special and you feel a strong connection for the first time. It's beautiful.
2: Bladee - Sugar
It's been a great year for him with two mixtapes and a lot of songs on soundcloud. On the "Eversince" album it really feels like he's moving in a more serious direction with the lyrics and a set of songs that really fit together. It's not just entertainment anymore, at least not to me. I wish he would get half the recognition that Yung Lean gets in Sweden, which still isn't alot.
1: David Bowie - Black Star
One of my few idols. I absolutely love his music, he has inspired me alot through the years and still does with this amazing album. I really didn't expect him to release a song/album this great ever again. Rest in piece.
