Akatsuki no Yona Chapter 197
I don't usually come out and do this but chapter 196 gave me alot to think about 😂. I don't know about the rest of you guys but man, this chapter was a good load.
When I first started Akatsuki no Yona and read that Soo-won killed King Il, my first reactions were shocked, anger, and confusion.
Shocked because Soo-won's actions leading up to the murder of Il was very normal. He did things like he always did. Never hinted any resentment or plot to kill the king. Matter of fact, he acted so normal that Hak (of all people) couldn't tell that something was off about him. And Hak is his bestfriend.
Anger because (I'll be honest) he fucking ruin Hak and put Yona in a state beyond repair. When it came to Yona I felt her pain. It hurt that she had to go through this and not knowing the whys. When it came to Hak my emotions were all over the place. I fucking felt his pain. What hurt above all was that Soo-won threw away their friendship. I know it wasn't easy for Soo-won but man, did it messed up Hak. Hak loved Soo-won like a brother. And we all know, once you're dear to Hak it's deep. So, this betrayal ruined everything for him.
Confused because Soo-won isn't power driven. The throne isn't something he wants according to Hak. So, I could never bring myself to fully hate Soo-won. I hated what he did to Hak and Yona but that is as far as my hate goes.
Now that we got the full story of how all of this came to be, my heart goes out Il, Yu-hon, Yon-hi, Kashi, Yona and Soo-won. All of this could've somewhat been avoided if everyone expressed themselves and communicated better. If everyone just took the time to listen and understand, this tragedy wouldn't have happened. But it did.
I don't know what Sensei have plan but I have a few assumptions. Bare with me 😭.
My assumptions are that Yona will have a talk with Soo-won. There's no running around it. She'll probably forgive him or at least understand his reasoning. Hak will find out the truth, he needs to. He needs a good explanation and closure. I don't think he'll forgive Soo-won or Il but I think he'll understand the situation. Soo-won will die (it's unavoidable unless Sensei plays a plot-armor card then yea) and Hak will be the next king. Before you scream at me, I know. I don't like the idea of Hak being king but that's because I respect Hak decisions of not wanting to be king. But with how things are everything has been low-key pointing at him. This arc have displayed Hak's abilities, leadership, and character. We all know that he's fit to be king. The plot is building Hak up for it.
Kouka needs to step away from idea of the dragons and the royal family. It will be the downfall of Kouka if it keeps up. Putting someone like Hak into power will be the start of something fresh.
My other assumption is Yoon and Min-soo will find a cure for Soo-won and he lives. However, after he completes his goals for Kouka he hands over the kingdom to Hak and Yona. And would want to face whatever consequences that will be waiting for him.
I know it was a drag but thanks for reading all of that 😅. Comment and let know what you think guys 😜😊.
