Don't you ever feel like you like the ship angst more like the ship itself? Like, yeah I love them and I want them to be together, but I also want them to SUFFER, bc they love each other but can't be with the other, bc they think their love is unrequited (and maybe actually it is), or the other is dead and they miss each other every day, or simply the circumstances doesn't let them to be together, or maybe the angst can be them bonding over a shared trauma, or them consoling each other after a mental breakdown

Of course most of the time I would choose reading something fluffy about them because at the end of the day I want them to be happy BUT-
