Mason was still in his pajama pants and had only a sweatshirt on as he ran up to his mom’s house. Who the hell would do that? People didn’t just break into people’s houses to kidnap kids. Had there been another intention? He frowned though, thinking about it. Ruby was also a target for something. Why couldn’t they just leave her alone? He was worried about Hope, but also about his mom. Had she been hurt? He also couldn’t imagine how she was feeling. “Mom...?” he called out as he walked into the house.

“Miss Watson... hi, I have a Mason Peterson here in the A&E. You are listed as his emergency contact.” 

Don’t call my mom... He had thought it, but the words hadn’t really come out. Not that they probably would have listened to him anyway. After all, Haley was his emergency contact. Maybe he would need to change that. To Caleb or something. Mason grumbled a bit, shifting in the bed. His hand reached for his nose. Something was definitely up his nose. His hand reached up and grabbed for the nasal cannula, pulling it down so he could look at it. “--fuck...” He looked around, finally beginning to piece together where he probably was. His eyes stopped on the body sitting next to him in the chair. Oh... no... “Mom...”

Mason was sitting in the corner booth of the Coffee Bean. His leg was shaking a bit. He had to meet someone in about 30 minutes and it was probably the longest 30 minutes of his life. He was coming down from a high and desperately needed that next hit. He took a sip of his coffee before quickly moving to get up. Maybe if he started that direction it would make him feel better. When he did, he ran directly into Haley. “Shit...” He cursed, not noticing it was her at first. “I’m sorry... Oh... mom... hey...”
