Coming to Eorzea once his tribe was no more, this Tumet was looking to start a new life in the new world, and he had...unfortunately circumstances drove him back home to the Steppes. He spends his days hunting and crafting small figures out of wood, as well as trading skins in Reunion as well as Yanxia. Being later on in life he appreciates every day and counts it as a blessing, as well as every interaction he has with any person.

Lysander stared at Celia in confusion. His passive expression belied years upon years of silent suffering, of wounds both physical and mental that ran deeper than her skills as a medicus could reach without considerable effort. “All we have are orders… We’re supposed to be told what to do. Don’t stop. Don’t think. Follow orders as they are given. Do not deviate. Do not disobey.”
He lifted a hand to anxiously comb his fingers through his hair. “I can’tremember. I never lived for myself before. Never. Always orders. Always instructions. What to eat, how do dress, what to study. Even us. Even you.” He blinked once before his eyes glazed over.. “Don’t screw it up, you stupid boy. Be grateful. Not a soul in Garlemald would ever want your tainted blood. Even a broken child like her is better than you’ll ever be. At least she can’t complain about it.” He blinked again, his gaze returning to reality. “…what was I saying again?”
He trembled as he drew his arms around himself, leaning forward in his seat. What were they talking about again? He remembered… something. Something about orders. About being told what to do. What was it again? Something… something about living. About wanting. He could feel the anxiety creeping in again. He pressed a hand to his forehead, taking a shaky breath as he swallowed hard.
“…can we… talk about something else…? Something… happy. Please…?”
So @thedarkestdragonknight and I have been rping these two for a bit, and it turns out Xheta’ra is just pathetic and timid enough that he looks like a scared kitten to Athanasius’s broken brain. This has led to uncomfortable situations such as being petted with bloody hands and offered dried meats that are probably well beyond their best-by date.
At least this means that Xheta is safe from Athanasius’s sword for the most part. Athanasius would never hurt a kitten. In fact, he’d most certainly hurt anyone that does.

My favorite part of writingAthanasius is, interestingly enough, his mental illness. After struggling with mental illness for solong, it’s fun to just cut loose inside someone’s head and think about just howbroken the world can seem through their eyes. It’s cathartic, and it helps me feel better. A lot of Athanasius’s issues are my issues,but taken to severe extremes. That said:while I joke about his mental state, it’s only because I see him as anextension of myself. Anything I do laughat is stuff that’s more or less something I’ve experienced myself. I also tend to simplify to downplay the horrorof what he’s really going through. Soyou might see me laugh about him being scared of trees, but what I really meanis “trees look like screaming fleshy abominations that wear the faces ofeveryone he’s failed to protect.”
My favorite part of Arjeant’sbackstory would be his connection to the knight ‘Lazuli.’ It’s been said before that Lazuli is mycharacter from FFXI that I played from 2006 until roughly 2011 or so. When I first made Arjeant, he actuallystarted out as Lazuli waking up in Eorzea (just like Iroha from the FFXI crossoverevent). Even when I decided to make Lazuliinto Arjeant, I decided to just make him look as bedraggled, tired and ‘done’ aspossible (unintentionally making him look like Haurchefant in the process). As I built him up more, he became less Lazuliand more his own character, but I wanted to keep that connection. Once I came up with the idea to have himconnected to her through the soulstone, everything just fell into place and Ijust feel so happy with that. I can’teven begin to describe it.

• Athanasius doesn't know where he is. He tends to wander, and he doesn't know how to recognize his surroundings anymore. It isn't an unlikely possibility to run into him by pure chance. How would your character react to a mad vagrant wandering the woods clad in dark armor and wielding a big sword?
• Due to his position as a Duplicarius, it isn't unlikely for other Garleans to recognize him depending on their own service to Garlemald. Whether or not he recognizes them is another matter entirely.
• Depending on a person's experience, he may or may not be identifiable as a Garlean soldier. Do you try to have him arrested, despite his madness? Do you try to get him help despite him being the enemy?

• Between his abusive upbringing and his time in the military, Athanasius's mind is very broken. His reactions are very unstable, and how he reacts to something on one day may be reacted to more violently on another day. Tread carefully.
• Athanasius hates being called Lysander. He may accept it eventually from truly close friends, people that he can recognize well enough to pull himself out of his madness, but any other use is likely to provoke a violent response.
• Due to the nature of his past as well his mental state, mature rp with darker themes is to be expected, even in lighter scenarios. These will be discussed before any rp takes place.

• I'm usually busy due to a full-time job, so I ask for extreme patience with slow responses. I'm typically available in the evenings (9pm-12am EST), as well as Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• I'm very shy about rping initially, especially in-game, but once I get used to rping, I can be pretty open and active.
• I'm pretty flexible with my characters' backstories, and can mold them to suit the needs of my partners. I have a 'canon' story for my characters, but it's not too hard to set it aside so that both parties have fun.
• I have multiple characters to choose from. I've just only got maybe two that are able to rp in-game just yet.
• I am open to ERP, but preferably for story purposes, and only for people that I've had plenty of time to get to know.

He’s been onthe receiving end of ambushes, he’s had people attack his camps in the dead ofnight, seen food and water supplies poisoned, and seen the aftermath of areasthat had been targeted simply for being supply outposts, infirmaries, ormagitek maintenance areas. He’s beenlucky enough to come out alive, but this is how he’s lost most (if not all) ofthe few friends he’s ever had. This,along with just about everything else in his life, has left him with a heftyamount of PTSD to exacerbate his psychoses. He fears the quiet, he fears the dark, he fears the blind spot justbehind his head that he can never see no matter how hard he tries… He fears. He fears with every fiber of his being. And he doesn’t know how to Make It Stop.
