I’ve been standing up to people and calling people out more and more and I’m really proud of myself!! I’m making the world a better place. I’m really trying my best and getting better.

Also I’m starting to half lease a horse soon and I’m so incredibly excited!! He’s the goodest boy and I love him with all my heart. His name is Dream and it’s cheesy but fitting. He’s so kind and nice and talented and he deserves the world.

Riding Patch Next Week

I cannot wait to be riding Patch for my lesson next Wednesday. I haven’t ridden him since November... and he kind of reminds me of my father. My father fondly called him the “rookie horse” because Patch was still trying to get the hang of jumping when I was in a lesson with him.

I think Patch will have a special place in my heart because of that reminder. When I get to the barn on Wednesday, I hope to spend some quality time with him before and after the lesson. Maybe, and this is me thinking it out, my trainer will even let me half lease Patch for August? I have enough money to do a month half lease on him, which should be good. I just have to figure out two other days to spend time with him, other than my lesson day which is usually a Wednesday. I’ll figure it out.. I really want to try half leasing.

I'm thinking about asking to half lease the lesson horse I ride at my barn...he's quite young and not super educated but a lovely boy and is almost never naughty under saddle. He can be a bit dead to aids (lesson horse lol) and has trouble with his right lead canter but I am still a beginner so I guess that's not a huge issue? Thoughts?

If you’re a beginner and eager to learn, I think half lease on a lesson horse is an excellent idea. You’ll be able to spend more time in the saddle, refine everything you’re learning at your own rythm, you’ll learn how to care for a horse in a more independent way and you’ll be able to actually build a bond with the horse (not always easy with lesson horses you don’t see often).

Even if you encounter difficulties (and, warning: you probably will), it can only be a rewarding experience. Actually, a horse with the slight training issues you’re talking about can be a good thing : you’ll have the right amount of time to learn how to react to them and correct them if you can. Enjoy!!

My high hopes just fell off thier high horse

Yep, I knew this was too good to be true. Just found out BB's owners have been using me. I put in all the hard work during the winter and she plans on giving me 2 or 3 days a week in the summer so she can go off and show. If my trust issues wern't bad enough before...

Half-lease available in the CT/RI area.

Reccomend intermediate to advanced riders only. Must know some natural horsemanship or be willing to learn the basics. No jumping, just flat work. Could do dressage. Needs a brave rider who knows what they are doing. Message me for more details. Serious inquiries only.

EEEKK!?

There is a possible chance I get to lease a horse soon!! It's half lease and i'm finding out more information but I can not wait! I hope this goes through I really really do!

Nothing exciting has been going on at the barn(s) lately. I've just been turning Lennox out and feeding him his SmartCalm and beet pulp concoction daily. The farrier should be out tomorrow, so Lennox should have shoes and pads on all four hooves by the time I get off work. I'm excited for him to be fixed up and ready to be ridden!

I do have a girl that wants to meet him for a possible half lease, but I've been holding off on having her out because Lennox hasn't been rideable. Hopefully I can get him geared up and ready for her to try out sometime next week!
