SATURDAY NIGHT (1922) 22 x 28" (56 x 71 cm.) half sheet poster, USA. Leatrice Joy, Conrad Nagel, Edith Roberts, Jack Mower, Julia Faye, dir: Cecil B. DeMille, Paramount. Rarely do we find posters for DeMille's titles from this earlier period, and this particular piece represents the finest in late-Art Nouveau design of the time. This was Leatrice Joy's first film for DeMille, and she performed her own dangerous car stunts. The film is considered lost.

THE STRANGE DEATH OF ADOLF HITLER (1943) 22 x 28" (56 x 71 cm.) half sheet poster, USA. Ludwig Donath, Gale Sondergaard, George Dolenz, Fritz Kortner, dir: James P. Hogan; Universal. Unusual story about a man in Vienna who does Adolf Hitler impressions. So good is he that the Gestapo arrest him, but instead of punishing him they utilize his talents by giving him plastic surgery to look exactly like Hitler and do their bidding while acting as protection for the real man. His wife is told that he has been executed, his children are brainwashed and his wife's life is ruined. As revenge, she decides to kill Hitler. The Hitler theme and name in titles experienced a trend in Hollywood films of the early-1940s. Though the name is in the title, Hitler is never mentioned in the dialogue of the film.

RETURN OF THE FLY (1959) 22 x 28" (56 x 71 cm.) half sheet poster, USA. Vincent Price, Brett Halsey, David Frankham, John Sutton, Dan Seymour, Danielle De Metz, dir: Edward Bernds; API. It has been fifteen years since the horrifying events of the failed experiments with matter transmission, so uncle Francoise and son Phillipe make their own new machine to see if they can be successful at it. Yet again, the experiments fail, and Phillipe is turned into a half-man/half-fly creature. Made on a shoestring budget, this sequel had the fortune of being able to use the still-standing sets from the first film, as well as the continued services of Vincent Price, who raised the low-budget film to a finer status with his performance.

I WALK ALONE (1948) 22 x 28" (56 x 71 cm.) half sheet poster style B, USA. Burt Lancaster, Lizabeth Scott, Kirk Douglas, Wendell Cory, Kristine Miller, George Rigaud, dir: Byron Haskin; Paramount. Finely remembered and regarded film noir and nice testament to star Lizabeth Scott. Burt Lancaster appears on this poster with Scott, by far the best poster for this film we’ve ever seen.

THE SEARCHERS (1956) 22 x 28" (55 x 70 cm.) half sheet poster, USA. John Wayne, Jeffrey Hunter, Vera Miles, Natalie Wood, Ward Bond; dir: John Ford; Warner Brothers. One of the greatest of all film Westerns, by the master John Ford. As Ethan Edwards, John Wayne gave what is most likely his finest film performance. Returning from the Civil War, Ethan returns to the Texas ranch of his brother, hoping to be near his family and the woman he loves. When he discovers that Comanches raided the homestead while he was a way, he and his nephew set off to find the niece they kidnapped as a young girl.
