Byzantine mosaics found on the ceiling of the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia in Ravenna, Italy.

So this is not the starry skies ceiling of the Galla Placidia Mausoleum, this one is but I am still looking for the origin of the prev image

We've gone through like. Half a millennium's worth of famous churches and it's still a mystery.

With that being said, it's delightful how many craftspeople throughout the ages looked up at a ceiling and thought "you know what would fuck here, my liege? a starry sky mosaic."

All of this to say, I found it with a little help from @saessenach and after about 5 hours of scientific psychosis, this is from Saint Vladimir's Cathedral in Tauric Cherosonesos in Sevastopol, in Crime. The mosaic appears after the 2024 restauration, it seems. So this is not from Ravenna, it is a neo-byzantine restoration (by the Russian government, I concluded after multiple articles translate poorly from russian). It is unclear to me if this is part of the New Chersonesos complex (aka a museum and temple dedicated to the ancient and Byzantine culture of the area) but I do strongly believe it is:

hl2/hla-pilled lately

I watched a non-VR mod playthrough of half-life alyx and it's just so, so good, it's all the best aspects of hl games in one- loveable characters, amazing writing, terrifying horror aspects, the ending is so incredible.... I loved it so much....

i am of the sincere belief that if ur on ur computer a lot you should visually customize it to high hell and back not just for funsies but also because it has literally made me less depressed before. its kind of like how rearranging your bedroom is good for your brain, yknow. i do stuff like this every few months

LIVE WALLPAPER: wallpaper engine. only thing on here that costs any money (its like 5 bucks on steam). im sure theres free alternatives but this one has a lot of presets and stuff so its less hassle and its what i use. might be a bad idea for lower end pcs tho

Been absent because have just not felt up for anything, really. Been mostly getting stuff sorted for trash or donations, re-immersing myself into beading, and digging into State of Decay 2 again (now that the achievements for it are acknowledging again).

Today was fun tho- picture being out of gas and need to fix yer wheels because you ran over too many zombies and it gummed up your engine's intake, so you pull into a gas station to grab a quick can of gas and maybe rummage to find a repair kit. . . . and behind you is the outpost where some hostiles have camped out. Mind you the hostiles have hijacked all your supplies. . . and across the street are two juggernauts, and you got a pocket full of firecrackers.

Climb the to roof of the station; toss firecrackers, and watch the fun.

Hostiles suddenly have 2 juggernauts and 2 people sniping them because they can't come out to fire back

. . .and then a full horde with a bloater (explodes into a poison gas cloud) and a screamer (calls every zombie in the neighborhood in) toodle into the fray. . . the horde did the work for me XD

I am actually looking forward to State of Decay 3 because of shit like this even tho its supposed to be harder and scarier than 2.
