The Invisible Maddie
while we're at it, have my alt!Maddie, because she was screwed out of a redesign outright
the Invisible Maddie. Obviously a lift of the popular conception of the Invisible Man (a mummy aesthetic would have fit the movie monsters theme but it would make sense with her character, so I went with another scientific disaster). red, glowing bandages wrapped around an invisible 'true' form shaped vaguely like a woman, with a long white labcoat and goggles.
after fully coming into her powers, Maddie found herself ENTRANCED by the possibilities of being the first ecto-researcher with first hand knowledge and threw herself into it. while much more methodical and patient than Jack, and much more willing to act in the moment than Vlad, the fact remains that she is a feral lil science gremlin who will just be so happy and polite as she requests just a little bit of exposure to her experimental device. she's almost certain it won't even hurt! maybe
misses Jack and Vlad, but obsesses outright on the two of them letting the field languish without her. how dare they let her exposure go to waste like that! she's going to haunt the crap out of them
(this may lead to the Danny Phantom version of Ghostbusters)
keeps her core close to the chest, but the element is metal. one wrong move and you're getting skewered by a small storm of scalpels. obsessions: SCIENCE!!! and remembrance
new relationships
Spectra: archnemesis, one-sided. Maddie used her as a test subject ONE time to see if she could detect skin thieves harmlessly and she just won't let it go. you don't see Maddie complaining she threw off all her research
Bertrand: managed to poach him from Spectra. excellent minion. might have something to do with how much Spectra hates her, refuses to acknowledge it
Technus: i don't even know. but it's something. situationship??? whatever it is, it fluctuates wildly, they'll be making their greatest joint creation one day and the next Technus has all the defenses on his lair aiming to immolate if she gets too close, and then a week after that they're both crying on each other's shoulders about publish or perish when no one acknowledges ghosts are real
bonus trivia/headcanon: their halfa forms are all influenced by treatment they received for the ecto-acne. i'd have to put a trigger warning if I listed specific examples here, but I'm sure you can think of treatments that would result in someone identifying with a vampire, a corpse shocked to life, and someone forced to go through life with a bandage-covered face
