Technically the film is set in place in 2002 (Tamagotchi, boy bands) the main character girl is 13 years old.
That means she is one year older than Danny Fenton.
She lives in Toronto which is near to the Great Lakes.
I read in the fandom that Amity Park is in Illinois, and that Jack Fenton loves fishing, and he went to do it at the Lake Erie. Danny protected him in the adventure.
So they are living very close as in ages as geographically.
*Real Spoiler*
So I think if I want a cross-over I would start with that Mei's (the main character) family are halfas. They didn't become red panda just when they are old enough for the changes.
They called their Red Panda side spirit. And they were able to cut the spirit of with a ritual. Which remind me the Ghost Catcher incident.
They closed their Panda side, but they were unhappy and frustrated. Mei's family afraid of this spirit thing, and they talk about it as it would be a really bad thing. Like how Danny's parents talk about ghosts.
Danny and Mei definitely have to meet, and Danny could notice that he is nearly like her. I need to figure out more details, but I will write a crossover for sure.
What if the reason halfas are considered so powerful is because when they use up all of their cores energy they just revert to their human form, sure they are tired after but there’s no long term damage from over exerting their core.
While a regular ghost would be in a lot more danger if they exhausted their core since it’s their very being their core is their essence. So if they used all of their energy up by either fighting or some other reason they may go into a dorment/hibernation state or in extreme cases of core exhaustion they could even dissipate compleatly.
But as a halfa danny and vlads bodies would just revert to their human state letting their ghost side have a break while still being able to function in an emergency situation. This is why Danny is able to do such a powerful attack like the ghostly wail when we hardly see any other ghosts come even close to being able to use to that level of destructive ability. And it could possibly be why Dan took so long to learn it, because he lacked a human half he had to build up his ability to use more and more power before his core becoming exhausted and running the risk of dissipating.
