Containing elements of rock, jazz and electronic pop, Halfalib’s debut single “Arythmie Du Soleil” shows a slew of ambition right out of the gate. A spacey, breezy swing, the track uses piano and saxophone as the main instrumentation, moving back and forth in communication while a broken croon dances above. All sounds are delivered with a light touch, dissonant at times but not really rattling. Emotional and cinematic, Halfalib achieve a sound equally relaxing and grand. There’s little info on the Italian band/project, the song just premiered less than a week ago, but it’s cool to hear where they could be going from here - Halfalib’s debut record Malamocco is due February 24th.
