Re: your cozy books post, I was just wondering what book podcasts you listen to. I've been searching for book podcasts for months but I'm yet to find one I like so I'd love some recs!
I'm subscribed to Right Here Write Queer, but I've fallen way behind in my listening! It's very homegrown, and I mean that in a good way. Feels like a group of friends talking about their books and their writing. I kind of want to be on it but I'm too intimidated to reach out.
I namechecked the Smart Bitches podcast in that post, but I don't actually follow it. I just saw that they'd done an ep with Freya Marske and was like oh hell yes I've got to listen to that. But SBTB is great and I bet this is a Good Podcast.
I briefly listened to Rebel Ever After, which is about progressive politics in romance novels, but I got too annoyed with the way the host and most of the interviewed writers talked about dark romance. It might hit other people better. Might try the ep on sapphic romance from June 30, though.
I'm more inclined to podcasts about writing. I LOVE the Publishing Rodeo podcast, it gave me the courage to self-publish (because multiple writers made it clear that you're only going to be successful in tradpub if the publisher decides you will be successful, and you're probably going to have to do your own marketing anyway). Great writers talking about their books, their processes, their journeys.
I was listening to The Bestseller Experiment for a while, but got a bit bored of it because all of the interviewed writers are ... prolific bestsellers. Lots of non-sf/f genre stuff. A bit mercenary. But there's good stuff in it.
