❝ ———- do you love him ? ❞
she had nothing else to possibly say to stall this moment : this clearly one of the few reasons why rapunzel wished to speak to the girl. overprotective-ness was definitely a trait of hers that the brunette never truly put on a leash, letting it L A S H out entirely. well, occasionally.

☼: to decorate a christmas tree together!
And the point would be...?
Such was a thought that he found flitting around in his mind quite often that day, and for good reason, if Thorin said so himself. The way his cheerful companion scurried around the place, gathering boxes and knick-knacks and whatever else she happened to find, left him in a state of confusion as his head attempted to catch up with the goings-on and figure out exactly what it was she was doing; without asking, of course, as doing so would make him seem a fool. Perhaps Bilba had noticed the confusion written across his expression and chosen to indulge him, explaining exactly what they were to do with the variety of things now littered around the room: every last one of them was meant to adorn her tree.
And that little bit of information left him far more confused than he'd been at the start. They were going to...? But why? It was a stupid thing to do, in his personal opinion, a waste of time in its entirety -- but of course, anyone with an ounce of tact remaining within them would not speak such things aloud. Decency would have the person in question biting their tongue, and simply going along with their hostess's wishes, regardless of how ridiculous those wishes may have seemed.
"...what is the point of this nonsense?" Unfortunately, he was not one of those people.
Still, even has he voiced that meager protest, Thorin took one of the small ornaments in his palm, studying the fragile object with a tightly knit brow. So small, and beautiful insignificant, and--truth be told, he was not entirely sure what the bloody thing was, and still it sat in Bilba's collection of items meant to grace the tree situated in the corner. All for the holidays, or so he had been told. While that was all good and well, in the dwarf's mind, traditions associated with a holiday should have some special meaning. Something symbolic; a trait that was lacking in the decorating of a tree...
...as far as he knew. These things were far from his area of expertise, however.
So, with a heavy sigh, Thorin set the glass object back in its place, tucked away in a container amidst various others of its kind, and heaved a sigh before he tried his question again. "Rather...why do you bother with all of this?" Ah, yes, that was so much better. "It seems rather silly, to decorate a tree..."
