La route qu’on empruntait importait peu, tout comme la direction qu’on prenait. C’est la règle dans ce monde : tous les chemins mènent quelque part. Qu’on aille de l’avant ou qu’on retourne en arrière, on est toujours en train de partir et de venir à la fois.

Il savait que l’eau n’exercerait que peu de ses voeux. Mais il savait aussi qu’elle emporterait tout ce dont il voulait se débarrasser. Parce que ça s’est toujours passé ainsi avec ce fleuve. Maintes pensées pénibles qu’il y avait plongées avaient disparu sans laisser de trace. Maintes envies ou douleurs s’étaient ainsi liquéfiées.

The Slovenian song "Namesto koga roža cveti" was written by Vlado Kreslin as part of the soundtrack for the movie Halgato, directed by Andrej Mlakar. The film and soundtrack were inspired by Feri Lainšček's novel, which is a bildungsroman that follows the lives of two Roma boys.
