The Halifax Citadel is considered to be the most haunted place in Nova Scotia. There are dozens of ghost stories surrounding it including The Wineyard Story, The Doppelgänger, The Well Sergeant, and of course the most famous, The Grey Lady, who is even on a postage stamp!
Take a Ghost Tour if you wanna learn about the folklore of the old Fort. They run from July to October.

Our most notable geographic feature, Citadel Hill, is a drumlin, a deposit left over from the last glaciation period. Basically the glacier said “ah man, I don’t feel too good” then barfed up a bunch of rocks and sediment.
We have a Noon Gun.
Every day (except Christmas) we fire a 12 pound smooth bore muzzleloader (a cannon) at noon.
It’s 100% normal to see Victorian Era highlanders walking around downtown.
They’re from the Halifax Citadel. Representing the 78th Highland Regiment of Foot for decades they have become an iconic symbol of Halifax. Hundreds of thousands of tourists come to the Citadel every year to take photos with the highlanders standing sentry.
