"Oh." he dropped his fighting stance. "Sorry. I thought you were something else."

Amy pushed the door open to the small shop with a smile on her face. She had a bit of downtime before Rory got home from work and she'd gotten a bit restless. She liked being back on Earth for a change, it was nice and relaxing, but she still needed to keep herself occupied. She picked up one item and looked it over carefully, continuing to walk slowly until she bumped into someone. "Oh! Sorry about that! Apparently I'm clumsy today. You all right?"

It's just like any normal Wednesday, Mr Maitland had taken Angie and Artie out to see a movie and Clara was sitting anxiously at the bottom of the staircase waiting for the Doctor to pick her up. It had become routine between the pair of them.
He'd pick her up, show her the stars or something impossible and drop her off back home and safe and sound to continue her normal life.
The sound of the TARDIS materialising nearby filled her ears and a smile stretched across her face as she waited for the Doctor's light knock at the door before she stood up.
But the footsteps weren't accompanied with the Doctor's usual knock but instead a heavy, impatient knock followed.
"Doctor?" Clara rose to her feet slowly, staring at the door in concern.
"You have a visitor, wake up." The voice was harsh and cold, one that she didn't remember.
"I am awake."
"Wake up now, come on. Visiting hours are short." The banging at the door only grew relentlessly louder and Clara found herself sinking back onto the staircase, burying her face in her hands and squeezing her eyes shut.
Then just as it seemed it would never end, the banging stopped. Only when she dared to open her eyes again, she wasn't in the Maitland's home. She was in a room that she didn't recognise. The walls were starch white and bare and there was a man standing in a doorway who was dressed just as simply as the rest of the room.
"Where am I?" Clara asked, swinging her legs over the side of the bed as she made to run out the door.
"Bethlem Royal Hospital, Miss Oswald and you have a visitor."
"No I was waiting for the Doctor. At my home. In Chiswick."
"It was a dream, Clara. It was all a dream. You've been here for years. Ever since your mum died."
"You're lying. Stop lying to me. Please, I've got to find the Doctor, he's real. Stop telling me he isn't real. Let me out!"
