Everyone who is usually in the hallow is gone, in that emptiness something changes. No one is there to see what happens. Upon returning it is clear that something has changed while they were gone.
The hallow which previously bloomed all at once overnight, once again undergoes a change. The grass grows taller, from the previous ankle height to nearly half way up most people's calves. The smaller flowers such as daisies and dandelions become partly hidden in the longer grass and more larger flowers start to show up, growing thick and fast.
The sun lantern appears to be further overtaken by dead nettles, the plants that are usually much smaller, acting as ground cover, have begun to grow nearly five foot. Where previously they grew just around the stones of the lantern base, they grow further away. A radius of about five feet around the lantern is covered in a thick layer of these flowers. There appears to be a shimmer in the air around the lantern and the flowers, it settles over the course of the day, sinking into the ground.
The garden is bursting with various plants, it clearly needs weeding as opportunistic plants take over any clear space. Despite the number of weeds and other plants the crops are also thriving, many plants have doubled in size, beginning to be squished by all the life within each area. The various crops are bountious with fruits and berries, and the root plants grow sturdy and strong. The soil seems richer and alive than before.
The chickens have escaped their pen once again. The weak grass wall that was errected has long since been knocked over by the chickens. The low stone wall that kept them in when they were little has grown moss so thick its hard to make out where the stones are as opposed to where the is ground. The smaller chicks have also had quite the growth spurt, near adults. The older chickens have become true adults, able to lay eggs.
A few small birds have taken advantage of the blooming garden, and ample insects can be seen flitting about. Around the borders of the hallow, at eight points, corresponding to the cardinal directions and their inbetween points, small patches of flowering dead nettles have begun to sprout. The shimmer from the lantern and the plants there is also present here, and it also fades as the day passes.
