New kombucha flavors! My second batch turned out more tangy than the first one, maybe because I used a different tea. The one on the left is an apple, pear, and cinnamon combo and the pink is a strawberry peppermint flavor (soo random but sooooo good) :)
Sampled the floor in microbiology lab! Isn't this disgustingly beautiful? So many different kinds of fungi and bacteria live on these ordinary surfaces. Don't walk barefoot in a lab lol
Health update #1
I am currently reading a chapter about sleep in my textbook for one of my Health Education classes and there is a section regarding sleep disorders, sleep apnea in particular, and two things have occurred to me:
1. I used to snore. REALLY BADLY. Sleepovers were not my favorite. My friends would refuse to sleep in the same room with me because it was so bad, I had to sleep in the guest room in their house. I was also really overweight at that time (+45 lbs over my normal range).
2. My textbook describes sleep apnea as being a condition that affects 80 million Americans (mostly undiagnosed) and people who are overweight.
I remember during that time how tired I always was, how anxious and depressed I felt. Now, I get really good sleep. My current roommates haven't said anything to me about snoring, or waking them up. Is my sleep apnea gone or did I really even have it? I mean, it would make complete sense that I don't snore anymore because I lost weight. And if that were the case, that is fucking awesome and I rock!! So I guess this is a health update of some sort.. haha. Or something that I noticed in myself that I wanted to share with you all.
Our bodies are amazing and capable of healing themselves by simply taking care them. Diet and exercise, positive mind and spirit~
