Suggestions Needed!

Hey friends. I’m teaching a video games themed research writing class to my college kids in the spring, and i haven’t taught the class in a couple of years. the course is focused around information literacy and researching/writing about a pressing situation/problem/topic in the world of video games. i need to revisit and possibly expand my potential research topic list so i’m asking you all:

What do you think are some pressing issues/discussions/topics/problems surrounding video games today? The industry, the culture, etc. etc. I am already going to add Crunch Culture to my list and have a range of social issues and representation issues already covered. As an elderly millennial who only really plays big story-driven games, I am particularly behind on topics to do with eSports, as well as loot boxes/microtransactions, accessibility, games for kids, social media and gaming, etc. but am open to any suggestions. My students will have to write two academic research papers on the topic, so it must have some academic or at least robust cultural appeal.
