• INTERNATIONAL • WOMEN’S • DAY • Throwback to summer ‘17 in Algeria 🇩🇿 when I was invited to speak to a group of English-speaking girls who were part of a women’s NGO about the importance of volunteerism. I spoke about my experiences and about the work of an amazing faith-based social justice group in Milwaukee called @marufonline. The girls were inspired and decided to organize a visit to the local orphanage where they gave gifts to its mostly handicapped residents. Tears, Hugs, and Love filled the room. The following week the girls visited patients in a nearby hospital. It was an unforgettable experience that I’m very grateful to have taken part of.
