Dave isn’t cute. He’s manly. When John says, “You’re cute,” Dave will always reply with, “You’re cute. Shut up.”

Dave was in a car wreck that resulted in head trauma. He had a touch of amnesia for a while, as well as short-term memory loss. John was his doctor. In the hospital, the moment Dave woke up and saw John for the first time, he didn’t know who he was or where he was or what happened, but he immediately started to flirt with John, telling him he had beautiful eyes. John just chuckled and told Dave to rest. But Dave kept laying it on thick. John chalked it up to Dave’s head trauma and the cocktail of pain medication he was on. But as time passed, Dave was just as flirty with John as when he first woke up. 

Dave was in the hospital for a couple of months as he slowly healed up. During that time, Dave had fallen hopelessly for John, the only constant thing in his life (even though he kept constantly forgetting things John had told him), and John had fallen for his patient. That wasn’t very professional, though, so he played it cool. After Dave had completely healed up and had his memory restored, after he was no longer John’s patient, that’s when John asked him out on a real date. Dave wholeheartedly agreed. After all, he’d have to re-learn everything about John so it could stick this time, and what better way than over coffee and tea at Dave’s place?

omg wow this is a hard one! but thank you so much, i’m happy to be back. i’ll try to do you justice!!!

Dave had been sick for a little while. It was just small things, like headaches. Then migraines. Then he would pass out from time to time. The same day that they got the results of Dave’s brain tumor was the same night that Dave and John had to go to Jade’s birthday party. They could have cancelled, but Dave didn’t want anyone to know that anything was wrong just yet, so they went anyways.

Of course, it was incredibly difficult for John to keep the act up. He was clearly upset. He even started to tear up at one point. That’s when Dave pulled him off to a bedroom to talk to him about what was going on. John was so terrified. He shared all of his fears with Dave, which kind of stressed Dave out, too, because he was trying to act like everything would be fine, when really he was scared himself.

It took a few surgeries and lots of chemo and radiation, but Dave pulled through. And John was by his side the entire time.

John is Cuban, and though he lives in America now, he grew up in and around Havana. His father’s job is what brought them to America (or rather trying to get a safe distance away from it), but Dave is what caught John’s attention. They went to the same school and even graduated together. They had a fling, but ultimately it wasn’t the best time or circumstances for a solid relationship, not to mention the fact that John’s dad absolutely hated Dave.

They split up and went their separate ways for a while. John wanted to focus on himself. They bumped into each other again, years later, and John was stable in his career, Dave cleaned up his act, and the two got together definitively.

honestly im the biggest trash for soulmate aus, whether they're colour ones or sentences on bodies. timer ones are also great!! i just love soulmates tbh

John and Dave had been friends since they were around 11 years old. Neither one of them saw in color upon meeting, though. So obviously they knew they weren’t supposed to be together. 

Time passed, and they grew older. All of their friends were meeting their soulmates, but they were still alone. 

When they turned around 22 or so, John was starting to develop feelings for Dave, even though he knew that they weren’t soulmates. Little did he know that Dave had felt this way since they were about 17, but saw it pointless to act on it. 

The two moved on with their lives, got an apartment in the city together, and made friends with the guys that worked at the bar Dave DJ’d at. They had this crazy party one night, and both John and Dave ended up super drunk and sleeping together. 

The next morning, Dave woke up seeing colors. He saw John’s dark hair and his sleeping body on Dave’s black silk sheets. John was his fucking soulmate. Holy shit. 

He shook the other awake, and John was pissed off until he realized that Dave had blond hair and striking red eyes. He asked Dave if he was seeing what he thought he was seeing. They were seeing color. They were meant to be together, all that time.
