A seaside small town imagine 🌊 ✨
(Haven’t written in a while!)
The sound of the waves crashing to the sea nestle their way into your ears. As you slowly wake up feeling groggy as usual, the sun seeps through your eyelids. The light is faint but you still embrace it. Its warmth fills you and expands all over body, slowly. Like the sounds of the waves crashing against the hard rocks, the sun’s warmth fills you with a daily reminder that you are alive.
You are in your little cottage by the sea.
As you slowly move out of the bed, you stretch towards your large windows. Even covered with their off-white cotton curtains, the sun makes it look as if the curtains are a pale yellow. You reach out to the curtains, soft to the touch. They feel as soft as cotton balls and a fluffy fuzzy dog. As you touch the curtains to pull them aside, you smell breakfast being made and the noise of pots and pans clanging against the gas stove. Your significant other never makes breakfast, maybe it will be a surprise. As you exit the bedroom, walking down the corridor you notice something new about the paintings and photos aligned on the wooden walls.
One is a photo of you and your significant other. It was taken by you the first day you moved in here together. They’re standing on the rock, body facing the sun, but their head tilting back towards you. The lighting in the photo is amazing. You can clearly recall that specific moment. It was dusk after you had finished unloading the boxes and items from the moving truck. Forgetting how long it takes to unpack, by the time you had finished, it was already dusk. Wanting to take a break, both of you decided to go to the seaside, a 3 minute walk away from home, and open some cans of your favorite cola.
Sitting on the edge of the boardwalk, admiring the sun slowly lowering, you felt so glad to be in this moment. Being with the one you love. It feel absolutely unbelievable to achieve this and be in the moment with them. Your partner jumps off the edge of the board walk and lands on the sandy ground two feet below. You’re too tired to ask what they’re doing and you’re too lazy to even bother asking. They remove their shoes while walking to where the water climbs up the coarse sand. They stand on a nearby rock facing the water looking absolutely stunning.
As the auburn sun seeps through their silhouette, making their figure look its best, you realize how beautiful they are right now. They open their arms out wide as if accepting a wide hug from an imaginary giant. Letting the sun say its last goodbyes for the day by giving its warmth to them. Your significant out is embracing the sun and accepts its warmth. As you pull out your phone to capture this moment, they turn around slowly. Their face looking the most beautiful as ever. Their beautiful lips slightly parted, exposing a little bit of their front teeth. As their mouth seems to form a small wayward smile or a small frown. Their face expressing such a subtle raw emotion as if the expression is saying, “I’m tired of the day, but I know the future will be bright with you.”
As you step away from the painting, you’re hopeful for the new day ahead. Your partner catches you starring at the photo and comes to your side. They smell like breakfast and mention that that day was one of the best in their lives. Looping their arm with yours, they lean over and give you a small peck on the lips. A putrid musty smell comes from the kitchen and you both run out to see that your to-be breakfast is burnt. You both deal with it and laugh about it in the end and settle on going to a diner instead.
Life’s full of hiccups, but you embrace each other and fill each other with warmth.
Like the sun expanding and offering you its warmth.
