Inktober day one: Hamsee

Yep, she is using the phone with her feet. It’s what Arphyrs do.

The barns swallos are coming back, and with them Hamsee.

I know she looks a bit weird.... I was feeling weird while drawing her. I was also thinking in Widowmaker.

Your life looks grimmer each time I rewrite it child...

Even tho it’s one of my simplest designs, I really like how Hamsee, and, well, the idea of my harpies in general, look. At some point I even thought that the ears were unnecesary, with them being birds and all,  but now I’m happy because it all adds to her expressivity ^^

I’ve been thinking for a while about giving Hamsee a pregnancy, although I’m not sure if she should just lay the eggs, or first grow a belly and then lay the eggs. And some weeks later the babies would be born?

It is also a bit complicated to write this, because I wanted to make it so she would have had a failed pregnancy in her youth so she would be both scared and hopeful about this one :/ It’s not a subject I am familiar with, but hope I can do it well

8D Welp!! This is the result of a LOT of experiment sketches! and I’m really happy with it

Basically I wanted to make this race use their “feet” as hands! I don’t know if this has been done before, but at least from my part what I always saw is that harpies, or, anthropomorphic birds in general, either had hands on the wings or used the feather as if they where hands/fingers... and I always found myself thinking “hey, but why not make them use their legs as if they were arms, you know,  just like real birds? I think it would look funier and nicer”

This is the result of that train of thought :) It was a bit difficult tho, there aren’t many references of women raising their legs like that xD  and I also had to make the legs a lot longer than I expected just to make it work, but I think the result is quite nice ^^

I hope I can finish this pic soon!

Finally the main character’s design is complete! (with more limbs/mobility than they’re supposed to have, but well)

I just hope the rest of the cast’s design goes a bit more smoothly that these ones xD

Welp, finished. I decided not to edit the watercolour much because.... meh

Definitive design for Hamsee! Proportions, colours, clothes and all ^^ the legs couldn’t fit into the page but... is not that terrible? (also, I have to practice a lot with wings >.<9)

Just two more to have the main characters completely designed >.<
