“What kind of gifts do you think would make men happy?”
It was mid-September when she asked me this question while waiting for the appraisal results in the lab.
“Men, huh.”
Stirring the drug sample in the test tube, I twisted my lips under the mask.
If one were to take her words literally, half of the world population would fall under the subject of her question. Unfortunately, I knew that the true subject of her question could not be anybody besides that one particular man out of the three billion.
In other words, it’s her boyfriend, the stone face working at the Port Bureau of Public Welfare, Drug Enforcement Department, Special Cross-Regional Investigation Team… Namely, drug enforcement officer Makabe Ryo.
Ah, that reminded me. It’s almost Makabe’s birthday.
I have no interest whatsoever in gathering men’s profiles, but in that guy’s case, thanks to the cursed ties between us, I thought it wouldn’t hurt to dig a little deeper.
Maybe that’s why, the mischief was apparent on my face.
“In that case, check out this store. They have quite a collection.”
