"Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me," she sings while gazing out the window of the carriage. "My lady." A gruffly voice calls out to her. Turning her attention to the older gentleman in front of her, she couldn't help to shrink back a little from seeing the stern looking expression on his features. "Please don't sing about those ruffians around Prince Aiden." He chided. Nodding in understanding, she lets out a sigh and watches the scenery past by as she makes her way to the castle.
4 years ago Russell was engaged to a woman named Setsuka, her father was the mayor of the town and had told Russell many times that he could believe he allowed the engagement, back then Russell didn’t understand until he got older what he had meant, they were only engaged because his father had protected their town from an attack from another region and as a reward they agreed that when Setsuka turned 18 she’d wed to Russell. The two had grown up together and were by each others side until Russell became distant and suddenly left.
Of course, Russell regrets leaving without saying goodbye, but he couldn't. he didn’t want to see her face that's usually so bright fall to sadness, he didn't want to think twice about becoming a pirate, he couldn't stay there and fall into that marriage, she didn't deserve it and what would be the point if he didn't love her? Russell only saw her as a close friend. Just the thought of being her husband and having children... she needed someone who wanted that, not someone who is driven by his past and his goals to become stronger than the legendary swordsman who had met once when he was 11.
Russell woke up and got ready for the day like usual as if nothing was different. At deck he was on the lookout searching for anything out of the blue, at sea you’d never know what you’d see, especially with how good of an eyesight Russell has. staring at the sea sounds like it could be boring, but to him, it wasn't, he loved thinking to himself and watching the small waves, the smell of the ocean and the sky- especially at sunset, it was the one familiar thing he could stare at for hours on end...
Russell saw an object heading their way, it was a little too far away or him to see so he took out his spyglass and saw the object, it was another ship, the flag was for the Europeans, they might be navy, but it didn't have the imperial navy flag..... Russell went down to the deck and he went to Morgan “There’s a ship, It’s not navy, they may not be a threat. Russell explained
“If they attack we will fight back, be on guard”
“Aye captain.” Russell nodded and went to the rest of the crew to tell them to be prepared just in case. Everyone went to the deck and watched as the ship approached, there were navy men on the ship, but nobles as well, they must be traveling to somewhere... all of a sudden cannons were firing “Shit!” Russell yelled helping Nathan load the cannons firing back. Eduardo moved a plank over to the other ship. Thomas took Russell’s place so the fencer could get onto the ship and keep the navy off the Sirius.
Russell fought with men and his eyes caught a woman who looked very rich and young be dragged by her hands and was shoved into a cabin. yes, she was a woman and should be in safety, but he was too rough with her,. Russell worked on making his way to the cabin fighting men left and right until he could open the cabin and the woman was close to the door, Russell examined her clothes “Hmm... Not quite a princess, but some rank.” He picked her up and put her over his shoulder as if she was a potato sack and he took her to the ship and the Sirius left the fight
“Russell you Idiot, you kidnapped a woman!” Eduardo yelled
“Trust me, she’ll be treated better here than on that ship.” Russell brushed it off
“Russell...” Morgan sighed “You’ll have to take responsibility for her...”
“Okay. Christopher, look at her arms.” He tested and they could see red fingerprints “They weren't too kind it looked like.”
“Well.... As long you didn't kidnap her for a stupid reason I guess.” Christopher said, “What is your name?” He asked the woman who looked terrified
