Okay so this might sound weird but could you guys send me some of your headcanons for gothic lit characters' hands? I've been think about doing a hand comparison drawing for awhile

Hands HC’s for the Courtiers

Valdemar

*Perfectly manicured nails, all even in length and rectangular/square in shape. *Nails are kept relatively short, they are thin and prone to breakage, but it’s not like they keep them long. The length can get bothersome through gloves when trying to be precise in a vivisection *Cool to the touch, they used to suffer from blood circulation issues before they made their deals so they always had freezing finger tips. *Even skin tone and color in their palms *They have smooth and thin hands, long fingers that are firm and sure when working with a specimen patient

Vulgora

*Blotchy skin tone, warm hands *Puffy and soft, that’s why they have gauntlets *Thick nails, hard to break and grow out pretty fast. They are Almond in shape and the only upkeep Vulgora can do is to file them down or bite on them when they have trouble sleeping at night or thinking about something bothersome in their personal war room *Nail color tends to be a little yellow due to thickness

Volta

*Smol and tiny hands, thin in nature *Nail biter, but her nails are strong and she tends to grate on them making the edges thin and sharp unintentionally *Like to bite the skin at the corners of her nails *Has to wash her nails often if she recalls because food gets stuck underneath snacks for later *She has warm hands from her constant wringing and fidgeting when she isn’t eating food

Vlastomil

*bony hands, puffy but calloused from gardening with his beloved worms *Can sometimes be weirdly slimy sweaty *Long and pointy nails, manicured and pointy too *The cleanest of all the courtiers nails, aside from Valdemar’s gloved ones *Takes pride in their upkeep *On the cool side, not cold not not room temperature either; the kind of temp you’d insist on holding if your hands were too hot

I'm not sure if this is what you meant, but i hc walton as having big, strong hands, victor with very fragile and delicate ones and adam with. I don't know a word in english i have to look it up-

Don't worry- that's exactly the kinda thing I was asking about! I definitely agree with Walton having strong hands- I also imagine that they're pretty dry and calloused from cold air and saltwater (and life as a sailor in general).

(same anon) i looked it up, i hc that adam's hands are gnarled, a bit like tree branches! Also his skin is dry and has a weird facture. Uhhh also liz and henry have delicate hands of artists! I hope i helped! :3

Gnarled is such a good adjective,, I quite like that. I love how we all collectively agree on the dry hands thing. Also, yes, Henry and Liz defo have soft hands- they're such kind people I feel like they should have gentle hands, better for comforting people, yknow? (if that makes sense)
