Yeah, two of my gals (and me) have their birthday today. In real life Harriet would turn 105 years today, which feels funny, considering I’m stuck mostly in the 1940s with her when I progress her story. xD
I don’t have anything planned for this, I haven’t had spoons for that kinds of stuff. But yeah, even though I haven’t done anything for Hande in quite some time, she’s the one who opened the doors for me to get back to my Batman oc and creating Narma and Harriet, so Hande has a special place in my heart. 💜
If you want to, you can asks questions about both of them or give them birthday wishes, and I will answer as them. For possible questions you can utilise these; list 1, list 2 & list 3, or something else.
"Happy birthday, Ella!" Hande chirps and gives her friend a warm hug. Then she hands the healer a bouquet of carnations and a soft parcel (inside: self-knitted blanket with whale patterns). "I've enchanted the flowers so that they'll never wilt. I hope you'll have a wonderful day!"
“Hande! It’s so good to see you, my old friend,” Ella smiles, excitedly returning the hug. She accepts the gifts from the other magician, smiling at the flowers.
“They’re absolutely beautiful. Would you like to come in? We have some wonderful sweets and tea. It would be great to catch up if you have the time.”
Sonia and Hande enjoying a drink at Rowdy Raven. Watch your glasses folks, for the way Sonia is talking animatedly, it could be easily spilled 😁 Hande belongs to @poetic-emptiness-fanfic, and I thank her again for letting her out 😂
🤗 from Hande to everyone (except for Mungo and Morana she'd give a friendly nod, because she doesn't think they'd appreciate if she tried to hug them)
"Hi, everyone!" Hande frolicked on the grass, waving towards the group of eight who were seated for a picnic on the field.
"Hande! You're just in time! Come on over!" Eris called out to her and got up to greet her with a hug, everyone else getting up to hug her too.
She hesitated when she reached the black haired cousins, instead giving them a nod and a smile.
"Oh, that won't do." Mungo rose to his feet and gave her a light hug. "Just because we don't always get along, doesn't mean a friendly hug will hurt me."
They both chuckled, Morana then getting up to shake her hand instead. But her smile was genuine as she said, "Friendly hugs do hurt me, so forgive me, but I hope this is good too."
They all laughed, knowing all too well Morana's sarcastic nature.
Hande sat between Eris and Calyx, soon enough diving in the delicious food and drinks and engaging in a casual conversation with all of them.
“Ahh...” He exaggerated huff of a sigh snapped Rain out of his focus, theories on the combination of herbal remedies and magical power spilling out of his head as he looked up to see a rather put-upon looking blonde with her arms crossed over her chest.
For all the bluster Hande quickly shook her head and laughed. “I think you were sitting exactly like this when I passed the last four times.”
Rain pinched his nose and puzzled over the statement a moment before relenting and asking. “Four times?”
“Over the past five hours.” Hande responded with a bit of amusement, watching the man search the room for some evidence of time passing. “You’re going to have to recommend the book if it’s so engrossing.”
He scrubbed his hand over his face and leaned back, scratching the beard at his chin as he considered where his afternoon had gone. “It’s a guide to herbal remedies and I’m cross referencing with a book on local flora, I’m not sure you’d find it as interesting as the one you lent me.” His head was aching fiercely now that he’d snapped out of his focus, and his neck pinched, sometimes he got far too involved in study to notice his body hitting a barrier.
“Are you working on local solutions with different recipes?” Hande stretched across the table and plucked his resource book up. On its current page it displayed a local fungus that seemed to help in a skin soothing salve. “Truffles, huh?”
“You’re familiar?” Rain did feel a bit like a fool for not knowing the local vegetation more intimately. It was something he was working on improving, hence the books, but it was a touch embarrassing if it was something everyone already knew.
“Well. Mostly that they’re pretty good in pasta.” She gave him a mix of a cheeky and sheepish smile. “You’ve never had them in food before?”
“I... honestly can’t remember right now.” Rain pressed his thumb against the joint of his jaw and cheekbone, trying to work out the tension making his skull feel too small. “I’ve perhaps neglected to pay attention.”
“Tsk.” Hande scolded playfully and put the book back down on the table. “You should at least pay a little attention to what you’re eating.” She set a small basket down on the table and began unwrapping the contents from their cloth.
“That’s certainly true. I’ll work to remedy--” Rain had let his guard down, he forgot Hande could be tricky if she needed to be. As he was stretching and speaking something sweet was popped into his mouth.
Hande’s finger remained on his lip a moment and he let the chocolate melt over his tongue. It was a homemade truffle-style chocolate, and the sweetness seemed to sooth some amount of the tension he was feeling.
“I just so happen to know, a good truffle health tip too.” Hande laughed and tapped Rain’s nose when he dutifully swallowed the candy, his cheeks grew hot as he grew flustered. “Sometimes you need to feed some chocolate to a headache.”
Rain chuckled lightly and looked down, licking his lips for the last taste of chocolate. He did feel a little bit better, and with the sweet chocolate his appetite started to come awake properly after hours of study. “You’re right. I’ll be sure to add it to my notes.” He plucked his pen from the table and began to scribble something down.
When Hande leaned over to read what he was writing she snatched the pen out of his hand. “Hande’s truffles are sweet but she is sneaky?”
“You didn’t let me finish.” Rain let a low rumble of a laugh pass as he reached for his pen. Instead he found himself with another chocolate pushed into his mouth. “Mm! See! Sneaky.”
“See if I bring you snacks next time.” She laughed and pushed his smug face away.
Since I’ve widened my repertoire of fandoms and characters, I decided to make a masterlist for everything I’ve written. You can search for my work by category, and each category/fandom has their own masterlist individually.
For you, I'll give a snippet from my WIP of the next chapter of Siren.
Though, probably I shouldn't be surprised of the latest encounter, for I was caught red-handed after breaking into her shop – again. I was just about to leave the building when she was coming in, which was embarrassing to say the least. Curiously enough the siren didn't summon the guards, but she gave me the third degree of questioning. I admitted that I have a key for her shop, and I handed it over to her. However, I didn't say I had received the key from Asra years ago – I don't trust the woman, and by no means am I going to tell her more than I have to.
