Excerpt from Emily Cook’s Behind the Scenes article in DWM #598

The Doctor and Donna’s gigantic limbs are in-camera prosthetics. That’s the handiwork (sorry, couldn’t resist) of Millennium FX. “I’ve got two big old hands,” says David. “There’s a bar as you put your hand into the prosthetic and you move your fingers gently. They’re pretty uncomfortable and heavy. You have to get into a different costume to get them attached onto you. You can’t get them on and off very easily.” “They’re not like prosthetics I’ve been used to,” says Catherine. “We haven’t had the fake teeth yet. When we put the knees on the other day they didn’t fit. The first one we tried on, just dropped to the floor hanging out in the middle of my thighs. It was like I’d birthed a leg.”
