New work is here!
This is the sixth piece in my When We Grow Old series. Once again, it's my mother's skilful hands and scraps of cloth that, over the quiet passing of time, have sculpted the everyday lives of three elderly figures — stylish, carefree, and full of love for life. As we reach middle age, it's hard not to reflect: youth may be dazzling, but the longest stretch of life quietly unfolds as we grow older. The years may no longer race ahead, but they bring a calmness and gentleness. Our faces may lose their youthful glow, but they gain an elegance and confidence all their own.
I have always believed that ageing is not a dimming, but another kind of highlight in life. May we all learn to live unafraid of age, and may every soul — no matter the number of years — shine freely and live passionately under the sun.
