@hangmancole okay but mel this is exactly it!! i get wanting your spinoff to feel different so that it’s a show in its own right as much as it’s a spinoff of something so successful but there’s truly no reason to bin the elements that work so well in your original and begins just works SO well it’s insane.
i genuinely think one chicago is such a good example of a franchise that knows it’s strengths and replicates them across the shows. i don’t watch med so much anymore but pd and fire are ace, even what, ten seasons in?
it’s a pity because ls is what drew me into the 911 world and they’ve got characters who are genuinely interesting and could be so beloved but it doesn’t feel like they’re ever doing anything with them
