At first, Nanami is simply blinking as they squish his face in her hands. Though he doesn't seem to fight it, letting him do as they please before finally, there's a big, wet kiss being pressed to his lips. Which yeah, catches him off guard. Is it stupid that he jumped a little in surprise? Whoopsie.

"Well, that's one way to say hello." A soft pfft sound escapes him.

the question comes from lenny, who's perched on his lap. anytime choso sits, he usually ends up with them seated on him or close, otherwise, choso tends to follow him around with puppy eyes, clearly already unaccustomed to being without the american sorcerer.

"us? married?," he follows the questions by going ' hmm ' in a way that says he genuinely doesn't know why anyone thinks they're a married couple. "maybe everyone is confused. we don't act like a couple," except that's not true. he doesn't act so clingy with anyone other than lenny.

THERE HAD BEEN A PRETTY PINK HAZE LINGERING IN THE SKY LATELY. from what she had read, it was something to do with with the wildfires off near sacramento, and even all the way down here, the air quality had been labeled as ' unhealthy. ' someone on the television outside the video store had even said that stepping outside today was like smoking three packs of cigarettes ── so she figured it was a good thing that she didn't smoke, and never had, since it left her with some room to make up for lost time.

then there was lenny. the only three things she knew about her was that she was studying to be a nurse; that she had come to santa carla with a group of friends for spring break; and that, in the past twenty-four hours, she had seen her do six shots and slightly singe their fingers when they tried to get one last hit off of half-an-inch of a blunt.

          " I DON'T THINK THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH YOU, " she told him. leaning over the cards that lenny had spread out over the sidewalk, she reached out and flipped over the ten of cups; she could never remember what it meant when it was reversed. " but there is definitely something wrong with me ── and i hope that what's wrong with me is never wrong with you. "

There were a lot of things between them that had been a long time coming; yes, Mellie would be relieved to know that things were FINALLY taking off. Was it in the direction of most couples? Not by a long shot, but he knew that couples were something like snowflakes and no two were alike.

A sound that is somewhere between a giggle and laugh falls past his lips, a nod of his head making those blonde curls bounce a tad bit. "I did, and you know I horribly am. Can't help it," he does nothing to stop himself from leaning into those arms of his, even for just a moment, and then offering an out stretched hand. "Already named 'im, have you? Not that I mind, love." Suddenly he was all too glad they were over at his flat versus his twin's. "Also, if you want, I could show you one of Mister Peen's primary functions."

Every time Zero drives under the influence, his excuse is that he can’t die. What does it matter if he gets behind the wheel drunk and coked out of his mind? Crushed metal won’t contain him.

He does not consider the possibility that he might hurt someone else, or what it would mean for him if he did. 

Luckily, this time he didn’t hurt anyone. He almost did, of course, but he turned last minute, so he still gets to say it. Although he does think perhaps the side-view mirror grazed her slightly as he did. But, if it did, it must not be that bad, since she seems well enough to give him attitude. And here he’d only stopped because he thought she deserved an apology.

          “Well, then consider this a fun story to get mad about with your friends later.”

"Oh man, I'm so ready to get out of here." He's been on call a while; that Alaire guy they found fairly recently seemed to be having a hard time adjusting so they needed more hands. You know, in case he lashed out or whatever. Though Macha wouldn't blame the guy. They have no idea how they'd handle to suddenly being in the position he's in after being abused and treated like a science experiment for years.

"You wanna get something to eat?" It's good to finally be free even if his work is doing good. He's hungry, tired, but man, he knows he's not going to be going to sleep anytime soon. Too awake somehow. "My treat."
