HANIYEH ASSASSINATION: WHY NOW AND WHY IN IRAN?
You can say in some essence that
@VP
Harris sealed Haniyeh's faith. Her disturbing and horrible announcement last week made Hams feel that they have a friend in the US, and immediately after, they rejected the hostage deal. Israel had to "shock" the system to have any chance of bringing our hostages back. This morning, the hostage families who blame Bibi daily for not getting a deal said he did a good thing, and they are pleased.
As to the why: Haniyeh has been moving freely between Qatar, Turkey, and Iran in the past ten months; the US made Israel promise them at the beginning of the war that they would not kill the leaders of Hams in Qatar, as not to embarrass Qatar and to keep the channels open with Hams. So Qatar was out. Turkey is a NATO country, and the highly anti-Israel stand Erdogan was taking would have complicated Israel's standing in the world if they had taken Haniyeh out in Turkey. This leaves us with Iran. With this strike, Israel embarrassed Iran, and in the Middle East culture, the host must protect its guests at all costs, which Iran failed to do. Also, the message to the head of the snake was clear. We can reach you anywhere, anytime, and you cannot do anything about it.

ISRAELI OCCUPATION FORCES ADMIT TO KILLING THREE SONS OF HAMAS POLITBURO LEADER HANIYEH AND GRANDCHILDREN
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) admitted on Wednesday to killing three of Hamas Politburo leader, Ismail Haniyeh, of the political-wing of the Resistance organization, as well as several grandchildren when they bombed their vehicle in the Al-Shati Refugee Camp as they were visiting residents and relatives for Eid al-Fatr.
The Israeli occupation army claimed they were all "members of Al-Qassam," on their way to carry out "terrorist activity."
In a statement, the occupation army said, "“The three individuals who were targeted are: Amir Haniyeh, a cell leader in the military wing of Hamas, Mohammed Haniyeh, a military activist in the organization, and Hazem Haniyeh, another military activist in the organization."
Interestingly, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority is claiming that the political leadership, including Benjamin Netanyahu, were "not informed in advance" of the operation targeting Haniyeh's children and grandchildren.
It claimed Netanyahu and Galant “discuss the assassination operations of high-ranking Palestinian leaders and approve them, while the assassination of leaders and individuals at lower levels is carried out based on the army's decision.”
