when chilton is framed as the chesapeake ripper, the crime scene forces him to literally dress in the role of leading suspect and guilty party— an outfit very similar to hannibal’s when abigail suspects him as a serial killer who called and warned her father. the only difference is chilton’s outfit, like his accusations, are ill-fitting: he is an innocent man.
