“Mae hi'n Fehefin y 1af... #PrideMonth2021 #LHDT ❤️ https://t.co/TUolxWKpE2”
Happy Pride 2021! 🏳️🌈
Dyma fideo Cymraeg am hanes Pride/Balchder yng Nghaerdydd - gyda hanesydd Daryl Leeworth ac is-deitlau Cymraeg.
Here’s a Welsh-language video on the history of Pride in Cardiff, which has first held in 1990. There was however a march in Cardiff in 1985 against homophobic hate crimes and media due to the stigma around the AIDS epidemic. The first official ‘Pride Cymru’ was in 1999, again in reaction to increased homophobic hate crimes in Cardiff.
‘Mae’n bwysig i gofio Tre-biwt fel dy ni’n cofio Tryweryn’ - ‘It’s important to remember Butetown like we remember Tryweryn.’
100 mlynedd ers terfysgoedd hil 1919, dyma fideo gan Yasmin Begum i Hansh ar S4C (ac mae’r video ar Trydar a Facebook hefyd).
100 years since the 1919 race riots, here’s a video by Yasmin Begum for Hansh on S4C, also available to watch on Twitter and Facebook. If you don’t understand Welsh, watch it for a glimpse of Glamorgan Archives’s records of the 1919 race riots, including photographic registers of those arrested.
Dilynwch Yasmin ar Trydar am fwy o drafodaeth ar hyn yn Cymraeg a Saesneg. Follow Yasmin on Twitter for more discussion of this, in English and Welsh.
An article I previously shared discusses the lack of commemoration of the 1919 race riots, especially in Newport, by Shaheen Sutton.
‘The riots resulted in 30 arrests, of which 27 were black people...’
Gan Carys Bettley i’r BBC, dwedodd Madeline Heneghan bod angen dysgu am y terfysgoedd hil yn ysgolion - mae Jamie Barker yn honu nad ydynt oherwydd bod y digwyddiadau yn ‘staen’ ar ein hanes.
By Carys Bettley on the BBC website, Madeline Heneghan says that the 1919 race riots should be taught in schools - Jamie Barker says that they aren’t because the events are an ‘embarrassing stain’ on history.
‘John Donovan, 33, and Mohammed Abdullah, 21, a fireman on a ship, died in Cardiff, while Frederick Henry Longman, a former soldier, died after being stabbed in Barry.’
Mwy o ymdrechion i gofio’r terfysgoedd hil 1919:

Mae yna hefyd fideos eraill, fel un am dod allan yn lesbiaidd ac ‘Hoyw, Balch, Caru Rygbi’. Gallwch chwilio am fideos ‘Stori Fi’ am fideos diddorol iawn am fod yn LHDT+ neu’n ‘BAME’. Mae hefyd mwy ar Trydar.
A dyma fideos blwyddyn diwethaf ar restr chwarae LHDT.
I say this with absolutely no sarcasm or exaggeration - I think of the video "y pobl chi'n mynd i weld yn ystod y chwe gwlad" on Hansh at LEAST twice a week. It is iconic
