Little Hanuman, son of Anjana and the wind god Vayu
One morning, he woke up hungry and mistook the rising Sun for a juicy mango. “Yummy!” he thought, and leapt into the sky to eat it!
As he soared toward the Sun, Indra, king of the gods, panicked. To stop him, he hurled his thunderbolt (Vajra), which struck Hanuman’s jaw and knocked him down to Earth.
Seeing his son hurt, Vayu grew furious and withdrew all air from the world. Everything came to a standstill—people, animals, even gods gasped for breath.
To calm Vayu, the gods healed Hanuman and blessed him with incredible powers. And thus began the journey of the mighty Hanuman!
