Between Season 3 and Season 4 of Camp Cretaceous, I started getting all kinds of fanfic ideas. The show, and a couple characters in particular, have been a source of inspiration I've rarely felt since I first got into writing fic over a decade ago.
One of these stories is a rather long AU/Crossover, which I'm still in the process of writing (currently ~50k), but with each new bit of info revealed for Chaos Theory, it tickles me how many similarities I see between what I envisioned for the campers in this story back around Season 4 to where they are now in canon. (Obviously these aren't perfect parallels by any means, but still.)
Darius: Feeling guilty over something that happened that was outside of his control, focused on dinosaurs/his research
Brooklynn: Off investigating things that might be better left alone, partly the catalyst for major plot point because of this
Kenji: Struggling with his current circumstances, rock-climbing may also be involved
Sammy: Working on a ranch, most well-adjusted of the group to the changes in their lives
Yaz: Finding ways to help people despite her own trauma/PTSD, learning to live with dinosaurs again
Ben: Is working on achieving a healthy mental balance between paranoid germaphobe and feral jungle boy, got tall (though I wasn't expecting him to be the tallest)
Misc. details: The group are separated, relationships between some might be strained due to plot points, lots of angst and guilt, carnivores trying to get them, adventure/survival reunites them, Bumpy remains perfect.
Hap: Losing his mind over trying to look after these kids, is too old for these shenanigans
Basically, every new thing we learn from Chaos Theory is helping reinforce most of the decisions I made in this story when it came to these characters and all I can think is:
