Just so you know, what shirade did was legitimately racist. "I didn't mean it" does not excuse it as not racist. And especially since she was trying to correct a KOREAN spelling a KOREAN word, she deserves no sympathy. Giving sympathy when people do wrong gives them a pass, and she deserves no pass. K-pop fans ALWAYS try to commodify Korean culture, and people of Korean heritage have every right to call it bullshit, because it is. No comments needed.
Okay first of, I never said it was alright. I know what she said was incorrect. So before you come telling me and trying to give me a lesson on racism, read my comment correctly. I never defended her by saying “Awwww it’s alright.” I acknowledge that she made a mistake. But if you’re going to correct her, do it without cussing. That seriously was the whole point to my comment. Go ahead and tell her what she did wrong. Correct her. I’m not giving her any sympathy in that aspect. But for people to cuss her out? You can call “bullshit” all you want, but nobody is going to listen if you insult them. The whole problem I had with that comment was that she was calling her a bitch. That was really all. So don’t tell me what is racist and what isn’t. I’ve experienced blatant racism is the US and in my home country. I can spot racism a mile away but people aren’t going to learn if you start insulting them. Why? Because at that point you’re no longer putting all the attention as to what she did wrong but more to the insults being thrown at her. You’re supposed to educate not destroy. So yes, comments are needed.
