Who says Pakistanis can’t bring change in their lifestyles and so on. Well who ever says this I totally disagree that person because he’s wrong and I believe Pakistan is a land for change, a homeland of change makers, who dwell within this country and we Pakistanis can easily bring change, we just need a spark to catch fire.
Few days back I went to Lahore and that day was a hectic but a really inspiring one. It was the day on which I came to know that we Pakistanis are alive but just sleeping and I have perfectly seen and practiced how to wake them up.
It was 18th February and I was travelling from Sialkot to Lahore via Daewoo, I was going there to attend TEDxKinnard. I was sitting next to a girl; she was to going Lahore for the same function - the unforgettable TEDxKinnard. On Bus was a small girl too... a real cutie pie and I had been noticing her from a while *Remember she was a small girl so no issues. She was too going Lahore with her mum and her mum was sleeping. Meanwhile this small girl was sitting on the bus floor from at least an hour. I had been watching her and she was getting Dizzy and it felt like she was too tired(she was not having a seat cause she had to be on her mother’s lap but her mother was sleeping), so now as she was a small kid I thought I should give her my seat and stand until her mum is up again. Then I thought “no it doesn’t look nice, they’ll say I am a showoff. Beyond all these thoughts it was my desi attitude that I did it.
Now this was a really sick and awkward moment as everyone was looking at with wide eyes open and I was literally like OMG. It lasted just for 10 minutes as the land hostess came with food and asked her mother to get up and take her food, she got up and immediately asked me “where’s the girl?” I pointed towards my seat she said to get her back to her. So I gave her the child back and sat down and In front of me was my Food Pack, and I knew the little girl would never get a food pack as she were on her mums ticket and on one ticket there is one food pack. Now I was planning to share my Food Pack with her… But you know what happened?
It’s the turning Point this time it was me whose eyes were left wide open, cause just before I gave my food, 4 People at a single time were asking her mum to take their Food Pack and Feed the girl. This was a moment I believed that I am not in Pakistan, this is a really placed environment and then I just realized that I made a change within and sparked a fire among fellows and this is probably the happiest day of my life.
