What struck me the most was Daisuke's death.
This death i can weirdly 'relate to' ??? Obviously not, but its one i can very vividly imagine upon myself and that brings it out to me even more. Its fascinating to me how a pretty low poly game can bring a scene to life so much you can feel it. The gutwrenching sounds, the relationships between the characters, the tiny movements of the character- i cant even bring to words how well that specific scene attacked me and left me in shambles.
Youre laying there, severely hurt because your boss ordered you to do something you knew wouldnt end well. Youre shivering and whimpering as blood is leaking all over you. It hurts so much and you just want to see your family one more time before death. The two figures, theyre talking about some desinfectant. Jimmy's back. Stinging Agony in all the worst hurting places, you cry out, but its all in your mind, begging anyone for the suffering to end. And it does. You look at the axe above your head with an exhausted, hurt expression, shaking violently from the sheer amount of pain. And it comes down. And theres one more dull pain. And its over.
The way we dont actually get to see the violence, its somewhat a bitter mercy not only to Daisuke but also to us??
Its 5 am, most of this wont make sense in the morning but fuck it, i need to share just how vividly i see this scene, how i can literally physically faintly feel it, without pain ofc but like theres really not much left to imagination, anyone else
