Going Merry Holidays (day 6): Darkness - Luffy vs Sanji 

Today is Independence Day in Finland (itsenäisyyspäivä) so I wanted to pick a finnish song and here is an amv. I actually renamd the in Youtube but it’s the same that was titled “Edge of Darkness” before. 

Back then I didn't have much ponders but anyway, this is pretty much summing up the Sanji vs Luffy fight and it’s aftermath. Sanji tried to push his friends away in order to save them but his captain refused because he knew something was up and then there is Nami who is completely shocked about the whole situation and seeing Sanji doing things that are way off his character. 

It was horrible for all 3 of them for sure but most interesting thig was how it took turn of events. Sanji who was certain he’d manage to save everyone by sacrificing himself finds soon himself deeper in the trouble and realizes he can’t do it on his own and sinks deeper to his muds. ¨

Then there is  Nami who eagerly wanted to find her nakama and now after his cold shoulder she was in disbelief and lost the faith for a while and stopped being the driving force of the retrieval team (before that she was hurrying all of them and stuff and tried to gather as much information as she could). 

Last but not least there was Luffy who was pretty carefree on retrieving him but now he is even more willing to bring Sanji back and even gave up for a short time something he loves the most: food. I think this was one of the greatest thing/detail  in the whole arc that Luffy who seems like a guy who doesn’t listen at all but now we see how much the captain actually does pay attention. 

He doesn’t know yet  Sanji’s early turmoil in his biological family but he knows the story behind the shipwreck and Baratie and witnessed how Sanji even there fed enemies so the captain knows feeding people means the world for him so he shows respect by declaring he won’t eat a thing before Sanji returns and eventually it paid of.
