Your Health Is In Your Hands by Wendy Allan
Your health is literally in your hands; how you ask …
The practice of Mudras (I like to also call it “Hand Yoga”) specifically Hand Mudras is where I explore today.
Hand Mudras are widely used throughout the world from Indian and Hawaiian dance to Christianity and on to crossing our fingers for good luck or a simple gesture of holding hands.
Mudras have a wonderful effect on the emotional areas of life, especially when combined with breathing techniques, yoga, and or meditation. So why not give it a try. Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down. Here are a couple of my favorites.
Gyan Mudra – Mudra of Knowledge
Method: touch the tip of the thumb to the tip of the index finger. Hold the other finders straight.
Specialty: The Mudra of knowledge, it enhances knowledge. The tip of the thumb has centers for pituitary and endocrine glands. When we press these centers with the index finger the glands works actively.

Prana Mudra – Mudra of Life

Specialty: It is the Mudra of life; it improves the poser of life. Weak people become strong. It reduces the clamps in blood vessels. If practiced regularly we will become more active.
